Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in executing sourcing strategies, driving cost reduction initiatives and managing supplier relationships. This position focuses on optimizing procurement processes, supplier negotiation, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Zeus' long-term goals.
Responsibilities
Reviews requisitions, purchase orders, and Oracle data for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures.Expedites purchase orders when necessary and notifies requestors of the expected delivery dates and follows up on back orders.Obtains oral and/or written quotations from suppliers as needed or directed.Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of quote comparisonsNegotiates contracts, pricing agreements, and service-level agreements to drive value for the company.Manage day to day interactions with suppliers, ensuring strong relationships, performance accountability, and contract compliance.Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities by analyzing spend data, supplier proposals, and market trends.Suggests changes to sourcing and/or inventory strategy when there are material shortages or longer than required lead-times.Collaborates with Corporate Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure suppliers and the products they supply meet the requirements of the Zeus Quality Management System set forth by procedures, policies and specifications.Performs daily maintenance of Oracle Item Catalog and maintain up-to-date pricing and supplier information ensuring immediate and accurate access to information in iprocurement.Maintains accurate supplier/department files.Works purchasing management to ensure all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiationManages supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards.Develops knowledge of assigned commodity properties and/or specifications aligned with manufacturing and quality requirements.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field of either Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement is required.3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.Demonstrated success in sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management.Experience managing supplier relationships and contributing to cost-saving projects.Ability to analyze spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to make data-driven decisions.Expertise in negotiating supplier contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.Proficiency in ERP Systems: (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and procurement software for sourcing and procurement activities.Ability to use advanced analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Incorta, to analyze procurement data.Proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.Ability to work cooperatively as a member of the purchasing team along with a focus on continuous improvement.Well-organized, high attention to detail, and able to carry out assignments with moderate supervision.A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologiesExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills essential.
