ABOUT THE POSITION
The Systems Administrator is part of the global Information Technology team. Reporting to the IT regional Manger of Infrastructure. The System Administrator's role is to mange and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Key Deliverables
Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.Upgrade systems with new releases and models.Recommend new approaches to improve the organizations network computer system.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, design, creation, development, testing, implementation, and modification of computer programs related to various machine operating systems to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment and software applications.Applies systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.Monitors and maintains the use of the company's photocopiers and printers.Helps to maintain the IT functionality of the Manufacturing CNC machines/devices within the manufacturing plan.Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups.Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution for client/server software and service packs.Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.Performs onsite and remote technical support.Assists in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.Creates and maintains good technical documentation.Provides emergency on-call support as needed.Provides backup support to IT Manager when requested.Projects positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; displays professional attitude; complies with company dress code.Communicates with individuals at all levels within the organization.Documents assigned tasks as required.Performs work according to supervisor's directives.Follows all company policies and procedures at all times.Follows proper safety procedures at all times.Cleans work area daily.Wears personal protective equipment as required.Performs other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, finance, accounting, or related degree or equivalent work experience.4+ years of experience with Windows Sever platforms with emphasis on Active Directory required, experience with windows 2012R2 or HigherExperience in LAN/WAN operations with solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with Cisco routers and switches, Internet firewalls and wireless technology required.Ensures all changes are documented and follow the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) change management processes as defined by Corporate IT Standard Operating Procedures.Strong background in Outlook and Exchange messaging systemsAdvanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills required.Virtualization experience in VMWARE, Hyper-VBasic Windows scripting skills preferred.Knowledge of principles and theories of network systems and management.Experience with data management.Ability to identify and resolve a wide range of technical computer-related issues. Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.Able to read, understand, and apply complex technical information.Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and vendors.Strong verbal communication skills.Ability to work with little supervision and have good time management skills.The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
