DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Summary of Position: The Sr. Procurement Manager is responsible for taking a hands-on approach in managing all procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, tactical purchasing, and cross-functional collaboration to support production schedules and operational goals.

Essential Functions: * Procurement Strategy: * Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. * Analyze market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings. * Collaborate with R&D and production teams to understand material specifications and sourcing needs. * Supplier Management: * Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and performance to meet R&D, production, and laboratory products catalogue business needs. * Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. * Take a proactive role in resolving supplier issues, ensuring consistent supply to production. * Contract Negotiation: * Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, delivery, and stocking agreements to meet production and inventory schedules. * Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies. * Monitor and manage contract renewals and terminations. * Cost and Inventory Control: * Implement cost-saving initiatives and track procurement performance; execute an annual cost savings program to meet company KPIs. * Work with supply chain departments to monitor inventory levels to ensure the availability of critical materials while utilizing supplier stocking and fulfillment strategies to maximize inventory turnover and reduce excess stock and stock outs. * Procurement Team Management: * Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a collaborative environment with all internal customers especially R&D, Production, and Lab Products to meet business needs. * Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement; Drive CI initiatives to reduce complexity and OH in the supply chain transactions. * Participate in product development and innovation projects, supporting the projects timelines of the business. * Develop, monitor, and drive KPIs to ensure alignment with company goals, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in procurement performance. * Facilitate smooth communication across departments. * Behaviors Skills: * Individuals will demonstrate Work Culture and Core Values; primarily a strong work ethic and high levels of motivation, personal accountability and leading by example. * Individuals will show respect for others and demonstrate positive behaviors while communicating with both internal customers and departmental colleagues. * Individual is capable of working in a hands-on and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related field. Preferred: An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

Computer Skills Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills. SAP experience preferred.

Other qualifications: * Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement for a manufacturing firm, specialty chemicals/Life Sciences preferred. * Experience managing a team. * Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices. * Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and inventory control. * Excellent negotiation and communication skills. * Takes a hands-on approach. * Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed procurement decisions. * Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. * Strong organization l and project management skills.
