Description

The Kids Sleepwear CAD Artist plays a crucial role in bringing imaginative designs to life, focusing on creating visually engaging and age-appropriate sleepwear collections. This position involves developing detailed technical drawings and CADs that reflect current trends while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards for children's apparel. The artist collaborates closely with designers and product developers to translate creative concepts into practical designs, paying close attention to color, fabric, and print details. A keen understanding of the children's market, combined with excellent technical skills in design software, is essential for delivering innovative and commercially viable sleepwear options. The role requires excellent time management, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, making it perfect for a motivated team player with a passion for fashion.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Art Department to create textile designs, including all-over prints, placement prints, screen prints, embroideries, and woven patterns (plaids, stripes, jacquards). Scan and refine bought artwork, and create repeats to factory specificationsAssist in the creation of line sheets and CADsSketch garment designs as neededWork across brands to deliver artwork that aligns with brand identities, while adhering to individual needs and deadlinesResearch and interpret print and textile trends effectivelyProactively support all members of the Design team, fostering business relationships for successful product outcomesRespond to requests promptly and efficientlyProvide assistance with the artwork archive system as neededRequirements

Degree in Textile Arts, Fashion Design, or Graphic Design, with 2+ years of experience in Photoshop and Illustrator2+ years of experience using Photoshop and IllustratorStrong knowledge of the commercial fabric printing process, including repeats, color separations, and factory limitationsFamiliarity with PLM (preferred but not required)Understanding of copyright issues in textile design, including reworking bought art to meet legal requirementsExcellent color and print sensibility, with a keen eye for fashion and detailProven ability to deliver commercially viable designs in a fast-paced environmentHighly motivated, passionate, and results-orientedStrong time management and prioritization skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsFlexible and creative problem solverProactive team player with a strong sense of accountability

Hybrid Work Schedule

3 days a week in the office, 2 work from home

New York Pay Rate $45,000.00 - $60,000.00
