What You Will Do:
The Buyer/Planner works with suppliers, production, materials and inventory management to ensure the appropriate materials are available to meet the production schedule; coordinates with inventory to time the shipment of specific materials in line with production schedules and inventory goals; and works with suppliers to procure the appropriate materials for production. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
How You Will Do It:
Contact vendors, place orders, verify supplies, manage supply requisition and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform Production Control of potential delays
Ensure PO's are placed on time with the proper approvals and documentation.
Ensure interdepartmental communication for improved coordination of productive operations
File information and maintain records of PO's for further Audits.
Manage the flow of assigned purchasing requisitions and inform the Requestor of approval/denial.
Monitor project delivery timelines, check work quality against company requirements and specifications and ensure compliance with regulations.
Train new employees and requestor on Purchasing policies and procedures.
Update policy changes and adapt the policies.
Help serve as a Purchasing ethics/compliance representative.
Compile, record and report project performance and progress to management and key stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
What We Look For
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of supply chain experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas - purchasing, warehousing, and/or replenishment planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (high proficiency in Excel) and Internet software and E-mail.
Working knowledge of Teams
Well versed in JD Edwards or similar ERP application
Preferred:
Minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience
