Director, Corporate Social Responsibility - US1
Summary:

Reporting to the VP of People and Purpose, this leader will have a critical role in managing the strategy and implementation of Illumina's corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives to magnify impact for internal and external stakeholders across environmental, social and governance themes. The Director of CSR will lead the team of global CSR professionals across the CSR/ESG reporting, philanthropy, and employee volunteer workstreams.
The leader will work with the executive CSR Steering Committees and the Illumina Corporate Foundation Board directors on the strategy and implementation of key areas of focus. They will work across the organization to influence sustainability, CSR/ ESG reporting, and corporate citizenship efforts.

Key Responsibilities :

CSR/ESG Strategy:
Evolve strategy and implementation of Illumina's sustainability and CSR efforts to align with Illumina's goals and business objectives.Assess potential ESG/CSR and sustainability risks and opportunities, develop strategies, and monitor emerging trends and regulationsLead the executive steering committee on the strategy, long term roadmap, metrics and benchmarks for ongoing progress in CSR/ ESG initiatives-
CSR / ESG Reporting and Communication :
Lead annual and ongoing reporting of CSR and sustainability initiatives, with representation to internal and external stakeholders including annual CSR Report, CSR website, ESG reporting hub, and impact stories.Prepare and implement internal controls for various global mandatory ESG related reportingSupport investor inquiries and submission of investor indices for CSR, ESG, Sustainability including but not limited to MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good, EcoVadis, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, CDP, Diversity Equality Index, Disability Equality Index, Corporate Equality Index, and others.Support development of materials for communication of CSR initiatives to all internal and external audiences, working with internal communications, public relations and investor relations to leverage appropriate channels for communication.-
Sustainability:
Identify and manage environmental impact areas, such as climate action plan, Scope 1, 2, 3, carbon emissions, Science Based Targets initiative commitments, renewable energy integration, water targets, waste management, resource consumption, sustainable product design, sustainable facilities, and sustainable value chain.Lead the implementation of programs addressing sustainable facilities, sustainable value chain, sustainable products, employee green teams, and application of genomics to promote sustainability such as agri-genomics and biodiversity conservation research.Provide oversight for sustainability data management and associated internal controls for reporting.Social Impact, Corporate Philanthropy, and Employee Volunteer
Lead the Illumina Corporate Foundation Board with philanthropic strategy and implementationFoster external nonprofit partnerships to magnify impact in CSR focus areas such as equitable STEM education, oncology, genetic health, and local issues.Lead efforts on accelerating access to genomics, community investment, and nurturing our people-

Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, suppliers, industry trade groups, and regulatory bodies, to promote transparency, CSR, and sustainability and inspire confidence in Illumina's efforts.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Experience/Education:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in ESG and CSR including proven experience building and advancing programs with advancing leadership responsibilityStrong Experience in ESG sustainability benchmark standards for reporting, and certification, including but not limited to "Science based target Initiative"

The estimated base salary range for the Director, Corporate Social Responsibility (Hybrid) role based in the United States of America is: $167,200 - $250,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
