Four (4) years of full time experience in program management, facilities management, or related field. Higher education experience. Experience with budget planning, financial management, program and event planning and coordination, or operational oversight. Project management experience. Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience leading cross-functional teams. Experience with higher education policies, procedures, and best practices. Experience working with underserved communities. Experience with event and fiscal management systems and software. Brief Description of Duties:The Associate Director for the Stony Brook Southampton Campus reports to the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives (VPSI) and Executive Director of the Stony Brook Southampton Campus. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in the campus's day-to-day management and operational oversight. This position is responsible for coordination and communication across units represented on the Southampton campus to ensure academic and research excellence and student success. The Associate Director will also be instrumental in developing, planning, and coordinating new initiatives, events, and programs that align with the strategic objectives of the Southampton campus and the broader institution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, are essential for this role. The incumbent needs strong organizational and time-management skills with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all campus operations and programming aspects. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are critical for the role.

Campus Operations Coordination & Communication:

Work closely with campus facilities teams, and academic and student units to ensure coordination and communication across units.Lead weekly operations team meetings to triage and address urgent needs, reporting regularly to the VPSI issues that require additional attention.Anticipate and creatively address problems as they arise.

Program Planning and Coordination of New Initiatives:

Work closely with the VPSI and the team to plan and execute new initiatives, events, and programs that support the campus's strategic goals and enhance its profile.Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop innovative programming that aligns with community needs and institutional priorities.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster partnerships that advance the mission of the Southampton campus.

Assist with Budget Planning and Financial Management:

Working closely with the VPSI, assist with the planning, management, and reporting of the annual budget for the Southampton campus.Ensure alignment of budgetary priorities with strategic goals.Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to guide decision-making.Support the procurement process and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.Working closely with the OVPSI team, identify opportunities to increase revenue through innovative programs, initiatives, and the strategic use of revocable permits.

Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. This position is based at the Stony Brook Southampton campus, with occasional travel required to the main campus and other locations for meetings, events, and professional development opportunities.
