As a Delivery Buyer, you will be a crucial member of an associate team responsible for performing both tactical and strategic buying activities. Your role will support on-time delivery and overall part readiness in support of Manufacturing, Engine Assembly, and MRO. You will also support cost, sourcing, and supplier management functions within the Purchasing Department. You will initiate and evaluate RFQs/RFPs, place POs based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements, and coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure business project goals are met.
Responsibilities
Support on-time delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, maintenance repair, and overhaul (MRO) needs.
Initiate and evaluate RFQs and RFPs to support business needs.
Place purchase orders based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure project goals are met.
Problem-solve and make decisions to support hardware disposition and expediting.
Work with Engineering (HGPU) and suppliers to accomplish process improvement goals.
Support process changes and other project-related items with internal and external customers.
Provide support to team members to ensure processes are understood and followed.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3 years of procurement or logistics-related experience.
Experience in purchasing, procurement, MRP, and manufacturing.
Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing supplier relationships and working in teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Good negotiation and analytical skills.
Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, preferably in Aerospace.
Experience with distressed suppliers.
Comfortable with phone communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience in procurement or supply chain.
Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus, but not required.
Ability to manage supplier relationships, problem resolution, contract review, and negotiation of terms and conditions.
Strong ability to develop strategic plans, coordinate projects, and communicate changes and progress (RFP/RFQ, NPI, Change Point Control).
Work Environment
This role is onsite with no hybrid flexibility. It involves less than 25% travel and includes a one-hour lunch break.
