Flyspace Productions is a full service, woman-owned event planning and management, A/V production, and fine arts services company located in Pittsburgh, PA. We are responsible for producing many of the large-scale events in the region including Three Rivers Arts Festival, Picklesburgh, and Light Up Night.
Our company is gearing up for the holiday season and is looking for part-time, seasonal support for one of our largest winter events, Dazzling Nights. Dazzling Nights is a walking winter light experience held at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens. Guests walk through the gardens and immerse themselves in multiple light and music installations and experiences. Our staff support this event by offering exemplary customer service throughout the garden and maintaining the safety and security of guests and staff throughout the installation. Duties range from guest services positions to operational support. This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the biggest and most interesting things happening in Pittsburgh!
This event runs Friday, November 29, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025 with a mandatory training on Saturday, November 23, 2024. This position offers very flexible scheduling with shifts occurring in the evenings and on weekends. Applicants do not need to be available for the full length of the event, though it is preferred. The base rate for this work is $15 per hour and is overtime eligible.
Job Requirements:
Must be 18 or older
Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work for any employer in the US. We cannot sponsor a visa for this position
Must be available for at least two shifts per week
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Reliable transportation to sites throughout Pittsburgh
Ability to take direction and understand instruction, and the capacity to ask questions when more clarification or information is necessary
Eagerness to learn and willingness to be trained
Maturity and understanding of the artistic and creative process and the ability to work in a professional and diplomatic manner with clients, artists, performers, sponsors, and the public
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team or with the public
Dress Code:
Closed-toed shoes are required at all times.
This job takes place almost entirely outdoors in the winter. Ability to dress for the weather is required.
Occasionally you will be asked to wear event specific clothing such as a hat or vest.
Classification and Rate:
This is a part-time, hourly position on a time-available schedule
The scheduling for this position is flexible and dependent on the event needs, which includes evening, night-time, or weekend shifts
Specific shift hours and duties will be posted with available shifts
The hourly rate for this position is $15 per hour
This is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position
This position is seasonal
