If so, the AMXL supply chain team is looking for an experienced leader with a strong record of achieving results, to create and execute the worldwide AMXL supply chain by working closely with our retail and operations partners across the globe in order to effectively manage volume flows and fullness for our fulfillment centers and delivery stations. The role requires heavy index on dive deep, bias for action, and ownership.

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL), formerly known as Special Handling, obsesses over customers by offering a white glove service where we deliver TVs and other large items like furniture in customers’ homes. Not only do we deliver large parcels, we unpack, assemble, install and sometimes even do tests, hauling away old items as needed. As we head into Peak, we continue to build our special handling fulfillment, delivery and services network and will add more fulfillment centers and delivery stations across NA. We are currently in the process of building out a network that is poised for big growth in the coming years.

AMLX Analytics is seeking a passionate Data Engineer to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you will implement modern, innovative data infrastructure and experiences across our data warehouse, web applications, and third-party integrations. You will work in one of the world's largest data environments, designing and supporting scalable solutions that integrate heterogeneous data sources to meet business needs. Exposure to cutting edge AWS technologies is provided.

You will collaborate cross-functionally, gathering requirements, designing data pipelines and datasets, and staying updated on emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will develop robust, scalable data models and optimize data consumption to generate unique insights. Key job responsibilities

Design and develop the pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python and AWS big data technologies.

Oversee and continually improve production operations, including optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, code deployments, bug fixes and overall release management and coordination.

Establish and maintain best practices for the design, development and support of data integration solutions, including documentation.

Work closely with Product teams, Data Scientists, Software developers and Business Intelligence Engineer to explore new data sources and deliver the data.

Able to read, write, and debug data processing and orchestration code written Python/Scala etc following best coding standards (e.g. version controlled, code reviewed, etc.)

Partner with Data Science and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define AMXL data and pipeline development needs.

Work with in-house scientists, global supply chain, transportation and logistics teams to identify new data capabilities and projects.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of data engineering experience

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
