Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

The Sync team is responsible for building, maintaining, enhancing, and scaling two-way integration solutions between the BILL payment platform/network and major accounting software products used by its customers. Used by nearly 90% of our paying Small Business customers, sync is a core feature that allows our customers to keep their bills, payments and other data up to date in their accounting systems.

As a senior staff engineer on the sync team, you will be responsible forDesigning new sync integrationsExecuting complex data migrationsWorking cross functionally to integrate sync products with diverse systemsImproving system reliability and observabilityPromoting a culture of qualityMentoring junior engineersWe'd love to chat if you have:

BS/MS in Computer Science, or closely related fieldSolid understanding of CS fundamentals - Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Networking and Databases.8+ years of software development experience in the industryProficiency in an object oriented or functional language (Elixir preferred)Expert-level knowledge of SQL Databases, particularly PostgresProven ability to take the product through all stages of development from concept to launchDemonstrates industry standard best practices with regards to code reviews, unit testing, automated testing and CI/CD.Business acumen - able to leverage the platform to solve business problemsExcellent teamwork and communicationPassion for great products and building great customer experiencesCustomer empathyGood to Have

Expertise with using AWS services to build microservicesExperience with Kafka or Event Driven SystemsFamiliar with frontend development with React and AngularExperience with tools including Splunk, Datadog, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly etc.Accounting domain knowledge (knows the basics of double-entry accounting, General Ledger, AP/AR) or other FinTech related experienceThe estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL's bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
