The DVT Engineer will be a member of a Systems team responsible for CI/CD pipeline enhancements and maintenance, automating and integrating new tests into the pipeline, and guiding other teams to contribute automated tests to the pipeline. Test cases will be designed to verify system level functional specifications for advanced telecommunications networks and services. This is a Senior level professional Engineering position for those who are on the Technical leadership path (versus Management of people) as this position has full technical ownership of all aspects of a project in the full product development cycle including conceptualizing, developing prototype tests and test systems, testing and perfecting designs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain CI/ CD pipeline.Develop automated test applications and test systems from existing test cases or general requirement documents.Ensure that test applications, test procedures, test systems, and test cases verify system level functional specifications for advanced telecommunications networks and services.Work closely with design engineers to develop and automate test procedures.Analyze and interpret or assist in the analysis of test case results using debug output (CLI debug output, WireShark network traces, equipment level Debug output, etc.) to provide specific failure mechanism information to Design Engineering.Analyze or assist in the analysis of problem re-creation results using debug output to provide specific failure mechanism information to Design Engineering.Work closely with HW/SW developers to recreate and resolve issues found during testing, and interface with Product Qualification and System Design Verification groups.Train and guide DBT teams in test automation.Maintain accurate test procedure documentation.Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Information Science) required.3-5 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development and Python.At least 5-7 years of experience in telecommunications network element testing and test automation.3-5 years of experience in the test automation development process, tools (such as iTest, MIB browsers, terminal emulation packages) and languages (such as TCL, Perl).Knowledge of Standard Telecommunications test equipment such as traffic generators, call generators, and the APIs used to automate them is required.Familiarity with software version control tools (like GitHub) and practices as well as common industry test management tools such as HP Quality Center and qTest.Minimum 5 years of work experience with L2/L3 network device functionality, configuration, User Interface protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, IGMP, LACP, PPP, PPPoE, etc.), and common industry test equipment (N2X, Spirent Test Center / Abacus, Ixia) is required.No travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with wireless protocols/standards and prior experience in testing wireless devices is highly desirable.Higher education level and certifications are preferred.Experience in wireless, DSLAM, Carrier Ethernet, Next Gen Broadband Network testing (SIP, EoCu, xDSL, EOAM, etc.) is preferred.CISCO Certification pref rred.
