Your Role:

MilliporeSigma in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Planning and Scheduling Supervisor. The Supervisor manages and provides leadership to a team of employees who create purchase orders, obtain quotations, evaluate bids, negotiate prices, make awards, correct invoice issues, resolve Quality issues, and resolve Receiving holds in the planning and purchasing processes of direct materials, scientific equipment, services, and supplies. The Supervisor also coordinates supply plans with suppliers to optimize cost, delivery, and quality and meets regularly with Manager of Operations Planning to provide input on alignment with departmental and organizational goals, KPIs, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Oversee ERP process for "buy" items while driving continuous improvements on material supply and inventory levelsEnsure timely visibility to material supply to support customer requirements and promise datesEstablish new supply sources or escalate to the Group Procurement Function in a timely manner where vendors and suppliers are inadequateDevelop and maintain policies and procedures for procurement; monitor and revise Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Ensure buyers monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality and valueWork with substantial discretion and sound judgment within broad guidelines; work effectively and with agility within a diverse global team, supporting local sitesFunction as advisor to Manager of Operations Planning regarding procurement projects, tasks, and typically collaborates with production, quality control and planning as needed to meet deadlines or resolve complex problemsDevelop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirementsCompile information from periodicals, catalogs, and other sources to stay informed on price trends and manufacturing processesUse sound interpersonal skills to advance discussions and build consensus across the business primarily regarding own technical area or disciplineProcurement projects as assigned or required by the businessWho You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in any field2+ years of experience with production planning and/or purchasing utilizing an ERP systemPreferred Qualifications:

2+ years of Supervisory experienceIn-depth knowledge and experience in procurement practices, principles and concepts of production planning and in resolving issues as they ariseWorking knowledge of ERP System Master Data (Bills of Material and Routings)Oracle or SAP ERP knowledgeWorking knowledge of Excel, Business Objects, and/or other data warehouse management applicationWorking experience MS Office Suite, with focus on Excel and AccessStrong ability to complete both task and objective-oriented assignments with problems that are diverse in scopeEffective professional interpersonal skills within all levels of a diverse organizationEffective analytical, conceptual, and communication skills (both oral and written)Excellent time management and organizational skillsAgility in adapting to changing circumstances, requirements, and deadlines
