The Operations Specialist I role is FULL-TIME, HYBRID, with an expectation of remote work after suitable training period and acceptable level of competency has been reached. Headquartered in Wake County, our footprint extends from Cary to Eastern North Carolina, and candidates are expected to be located within one hour of a First Flight branch.
This position is primarily responsible for processing and posting of operations transactions as described in the next section. A combination of selected tasks from below will be assigned based on the current needs of the department and the candidate's past experience. Operations Specialist 1 will also be responsible for additional operations duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor such as performing as a back-up to co-workers or performing account maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Automated Clearing House (ACH)
Process daily postings of ACH debits and credits including but not limited to processing exceptions, returned items, and periodic paymentsLoad new or edit existing ACH originationsCheck Services
Complete daily outclearing cash letter file preparationPost daily inclearing share draft file including exceptionsProcess negative checking accounts and returned checks including researching possibilities for recoveryDebit Card Services
Reconcile daily settlement for debit and ATM transaction activityAssist branch and call center staff in researching cardholder issues and requestsProcess negative checking accounts and returned checks including researching possibilities for recoveryATM and Cash Management
Monitor, report and log ATM technical issuesOrder cash for ATMs and retail branches while maintaining cash usage reportsWork directly with cash and ATM maintenance vendors to coordinate scheduling and servicing as neededAccounts Payable
Assist accounting department in receiving and tracking invoices for proper approval and payment to vendorsAccount Services
Process incoming and outgoing wiresAssist in processing deceased members accountsComplete IRA transaction paperwork as neededGeneral Operations Tasks
Complete interdepartmental work orders within service standardsAssist the branch and call center staff in researching deposit and account operations issuesInput, sort and track operations data as needed utilizing Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft AccessPost operations transactions and journal entriesMaintain current records and source documents in electronic formatReconcile operations general ledger accounts and assist in researching and resolving outagesServe as a back-up for co-workers as necessaryMonthly
Responsible for submitting monthly updates and reports to supervisor regarding assigned tasks.ACCOUNTABILITY:
Held accountable for accuracy of data entry as well as processing according to policies and procedures of First Flight and federal and state rules and regulations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
