Senior IT Business Analyst - Credit and Financial Risk

The Credit and Financial Risk Technology Product Squad is responsible for delivering Security and Entity Credit and Financial Risk Management software and data solutions to Manulife’s Risk organizations. The team builds and maintains software used to compute risk metrics that help mitigate Manulife’s exposure to entity default. Within this squad, there are strategic initiatives planned for 2025 focused on expanding Financial Risk Management capabilities. We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work closely with business stakeholders at all levels to understand and execute against business priorities while ensuring a high level of service to end users.
Position Responsibilities:
Requirement Development:
Develop business requirement and interface mapping documents and specifications.
Project Management:
Take on project management and project coordination roles on small to mid-sized projects.
Participate in project coordination and scrum/status calls, follow up on agreed tasks, and track progress on agreed actions.
Technology and Architecture:
Understand technology architecture and identify cross-application dependencies.
Audit and Compliance:
Assist with Audit/Risk/Compliance deliverable coordination across the Credit and Financial Risk Technology Product Squad.
Liaison Role:
Act as a business unit liaison with other business units, including Information Systems.
Data and Risk Calculations:
Understand core investment data attributes required for risk calculations.
Process Improvement:
Research and analyze improvement opportunities, conduct workflow analysis, prepare recommendations, and facilitate implementation of service quality and/or efficiency enhancements to business processes, including implementation of new solutions.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of Business Analysis experience in the Financial Services industry.
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
CFA or other financial mathematics degree or certification is preferable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Moody’s Risk Frontier, Moody’s Impairment Studio, Moody’s Portfolio Studio, and Microsoft Power BI.
Confident self-starter and quick learner.
Team player with good communication skills.
Understanding of the lifecycle of financial transactions, including derivatives and private markets.
Experience with IT ticket and project management systems such as ServiceNow and Jira.
Good verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
Experience with SQL for light queries.
