The People Operations Generalist will oversee payroll administration to ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, manage data collection and entry, and resolve payroll discrepancies. This role includes supporting onboarding, offboarding, and leave tracking, as well as conducting payroll audits and collaborating with Finance and Accounting for proper tax setups. The specialist will assist in administering short-term incentive commission plans and contribute to biannual job compensation reviews. Additional responsibilities include monitoring integration errors in payroll systems and addressing employee leave requests. Key skills required are attention to detail, software expertise (particularly in HRIS and Excel), integrity, problem-solving, effective communication, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Payroll & CompensationLead all payroll administration processes for Inspirato, ensuring compliance with state and federal labor and tax laws. This includes data collection, calculation, and entry across relative systems.Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with employees.Support onboarding, offboarding, and leave tracking within the payroll system.Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team to ensure proper tax setup for the company in all jurisdictions.Conduct regular payroll audits, focusing on employee work locations, overtime, recurring deductions, timecards, and benefit elections.Calculate and process tax implications related to employee travel.Assist in the administration of short-term incentive commission plans for over 200 employees.Contribute to biannual job compensation reviews and other job compensation assessments as needed.Create and analyze strategic reports related to payroll, compensation, commissions, and employee demographics.Benefits & Administration

Monitor and resolve integration errors in all payroll related systems including Paylocity, Bswift, Principal, Wex and Cigna.Work with external vendors on audits, discrepancies and employee communicationsSupport employees with paid leave and accommodation requests.Process Equity reporting requests monthly reporting requirements.Support People Operations team by performing other administrative tasks including but not limited to: office management, mail, benefit questions, VOE, and unemployment inquiries.Required Skills:

2+ years of experience working successfully in a similar roleBachelor's degree preferred

Compensation

- Generalist $60,000-$80,000 Base Salary. We believe in building a compensation structure that reflects the comparable market pay rate for positions at companies similar in size, revenue generation and geographic location; in addition to individual factors including seniority, performance-based merit, education/training and experience related to scope of responsibilities.

Bonus

- This position is eligible for the company's bonus plan, to the extent offered, at a target bonus percentage of up to 10% of your annual salary.
