The Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking for Research Coordinator.
The purpose of the Research Coordinator position is to support the operational activities of multiple research projects funded by two UVA internal grants. One project aims to explore the nature and magnitude of cancer health disparities among Sexual and Gender Minority patients, while the other project focuses on developing and pilot testing new anti-racism training materials for healthcare providers.
The Research Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and must be familiar with all aspects of the research protocols to effectively support both overall research operations and day-to-day activities. During in-clinic data collection, the incumbent is expected to be on campus/in the lab.
The successful candidate will be expected to:Track online data collection
Call participants and collect data
Collect in-person data at the Primary Care Center
Track phone and in-person surveys completed by two student RAs
Process participant payments and order e-gift cards
Assist two student RAs with in-person data collection
Assist with transcription
Serve as an alternative editor for the IRB
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree in related field
Experience: Equivalent experience/course work will be considered in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating research studies/projects in a higher-education or healthcare environment.
Experience with the IRB protocol submission, revision, and approval processes.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, MPlus, and SAS.
Proficiency with survey platforms like REDCap and Qualtrics.
Proven record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines simultaneously.
Experience working with individuals from diverse demographic backgrounds.
This position is a 12- month restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.

This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health/drug screen is required for this position prior to employment.

Physical Demands :
This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, with the possibility for a hybrid work arrangement.
Anticipated Hiring Range:
$35,000 - $45,000, based on education and experience.
