us at: www.northstarbehavioral.comOur Education Program Manager is accountable for education and staff services including new hire and student nurse orientation, competency development as well as support of new and existing clinical services through education and process improvement. The education program manager manages the online learning environment, teaches CPR, Crisis Intervention, Handle with Care and maintains accurate caregiver files as well as ensures educational offerings and ongoing education to clinical and non-clinical staff.JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:Effectively educate staff so they possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for safe, competent and effective patient careDevelop and implement new employee education as well as on-going education, with continued improvement based on staff feedbackMentor and coach peers, preceptors and staff; Serving as a preceptor when appropriateDevelop and maintain competency in the practice environmentDevelop and maintain policies and procedures related to competency assessment, clinical orientation, residency programs and clinical enrichment activities.Partner with clinical leaders to ensure educational components meet the learning needs of staffEnsure current practice is reflected in educational elements and educational design using effective adult teaching strategies.Actively involves the learner in all educational offeringsEnsures orientation and continuing education includes critical thinking, technical, interpersonal and environmental needs of staffPartners with external organizations to support lifelong learning by advising/ mentoring staff as they continue in their professional growth and developmentParticipates in process improvementEnsures compliance and readiness for all federal and state requirements as well as joint commission and CMSActs as an instructor for Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation and CPRRestructures programs and educational plans as well as educational strategies as neededConducts and manages clinical NEO week, RN Residency Program and yearly skills fairMaintains effective record keeping

Job Requirements for Patient Advicate:This position requires a current, valid Alaska RN license with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Master's Degree preferred).Minimum two (2) years' experience in nursing management role required.
