This team drives the growth of the firm's market share and competitive position through the development and implementation of transformative growth strategies across 13 key sectors.

The Manager plays a key role in framing and analyzing trends and complex business problems within sectors at the forefront of technology and automotive, developing recommendations, partnering with senior leaders and partners to drive implementation, facilitating communication processes, and developing pragmatic solutions to drive successful initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in the strategic direction and planning for an AmLaw Top 10 firm and be a key member of a market-leading industry team structure and award-winning Business Development department.

Primary responsibilities include:

With input from Industry Leaders and other senior team members, develops strategic goals for several industry teams. Drives working groups, initiatives, and special projects as requested by leadership team.

Prepares and manages implementation plans, regularly reviewing progress to ensure strategies remain relevant and in line with firm priorities. Based on results, makes, recommends, and implements adjustments and modifications.

Identifies and reviews market and legal trends; analyzes and applies this information in development of strategies for go-to-market industry teams.

Monitors business climate, trends in development, and government activity in areas of the firm's current and anticipated services lines within assigned industries.

Manages and analyzes internal data (e.g., clients, capabilities, services, profitability) within assigned industries.

Prepares quarterly reports with Industry Leaders for firm management on key metrics, strategic priorities, and industry trends and developments and prepares annual partner meeting industry sessions with Industry Leaders.

Works with other Managers and wider team on a regular basis to ensure consistency and collaboration across all industry team efforts and alignment with firm priorities, and cross-functionally with colleagues in various departments such as Marketing & Communications, Practice Operations, and Business Intelligence.

Experience and Qualifications:

Knowledge of trends and business issues in the technology and automotive industries is preferred as is knowledge of legal competitive landscape.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of directly related business development experience including proven strategic planning and execution expertise at a manager level, preferably in a law firm or other legal, consulting, or professional services firm. MBA desired.

Experience excelling in a highly matrixed work environment with ability to work across time zones with global teams and multiple business units.

Strong financial acumen, analytical, and project management skills.

Prior experience creating and presenting strategic plans to senior management.

Orientation to detail while understanding and driving towards the macro picture.

Very strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit, yet highly collaborative in working with colleagues across departments, offices, and skill levels.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior leadership and partners.
