About the Role
Culmen International is hiring a Communications Manager to provide support for the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) and will be onsite in Bethesda, MD.The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) improves the lives of service members with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other invisible wounds of war through excellence in TBI clinical care, research, and education.NICoE is part of DoD's initiative to foster an enabling environment that ensures our warfighters and public servants have a clear point of entry to the care system. NICoE provides a clear path through diagnosis, treatment, and reintegration.The PMO Communications Manager ensures that all program-related communications are clear, consistent, and effective, helping to drive program success and stakeholder satisfaction.What You'll Do in Your New Role
PMO Communications Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication within a Project Management Office (PMO). Here are some key responsibilities and skills associated with this role:* Develop Communication Plans: Create and implement communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed about project progress, changes, and outcomes* Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure that all stakeholders are engaged and informed through regular updates, meetings, and reports* Content Creation: Produce clear and concise communication materials, such as newsletters, status reports, and presentations* Coordination: Facilitate communication between project teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency* Crisis Communication: Manage communication during project crises or issues to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination* Oversee all program outreach efforts targeting various stakeholders including the public, potential partners, stakeholders, and DoD and other USG staff* Coordinate with colleagues responsible for program design, award management, and monitoring, and ensure that the program plans are also aligned with the broader communication strategy* Manage the effort to conceptualize and produce informational, educational, training, and research* Creation and submission of content (blogs, websites, newsletters)* Regular delivery of content and updates to internal and external audiences (sharing program updates, lessons learned, etc.) to maintain desired profile* Assess the level of outreach success on an ongoing basis, recommending any changes to the outreach strategy.* Manage client social media* Create engaging text, image, and video content* Design social media posts to sustain readers' curiosity and create interest with campaign products* Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans* Provide distinguished visitor facility tour support* Create and maintain information briefs and white papers for various audiences* Support response to taskers as neededRequired Qualifications
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences
Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detailsOrganizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple communication channels and ensure timely delivery of informationInterpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levelsTechnical Proficiency: Familiarity with communication tools and platforms, such as email marketing software, project management tools, and content management systemsAnalytical Skills: Ability to analyze communication effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback and dataDesired Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years leading communications, media relations, social media and/or marketing operationsExperience working on a team, PMO, an office, or high visibility programA minimum of 7 years of experience relevant to media relations, communications, marketingGovernment communications experience requiredDoD communications experience preferred
