Have you heard about our latest job opening at Advantage Resourcing? We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team in Bardstown, KY, with a competitive pay rate of $24 per hour. This is a first shift position with some overtime opportunities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our purchasing processes and supporting our commitment to quality and efficiency. If you're ready to contribute to a dynamic team and advance your career in purchasing, we want to hear from you!As a Purchasing Agent, you will represent purchasing activities by soliciting vendor bids, processing purchase orders, conducting spot buys, and researching new products. Your role will involve inquiring, analyzing, and negotiating multiple quotations to ensure optimal sourcing and cost practices. You will coordinate vendor bids for blanket orders, capital projects, and spot buys, while also processing electronic requisitions and purchase orders for initial, repeat, and spot buys. Additionally, you will follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery according to plan requirements, research and resolve invoice discrepancies, and monitor supplier performance. Maintaining organized files for reference and project history, supervising and managing supplier relationships, conducting on-site inspections as needed, and preparing management reports will also be key aspects of your responsibilities.Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business or a purchasing/buying field.1-3 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.Proven negotiation and judgment skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.Excellent communication and organizational skills.
