If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform infrastructureImplement and uphold modern software design principles, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-codeCollaborate with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, software engineers, infrastructure teams, and business units to enable effective data cohesion to support business processes and analyticsYou will work closely with the application teams, data analysts, and data scientists to provide data access and enable analyticsEnable and support self-serve data engineering solutions for both the wider data team and engineersProactively ensure the security and integrity of the platform and data feeds and take part in security and privacy design reviewsPerform application deployments acting as a gatekeeper to the production environmentIdentify areas for improvement in the data platform infrastructure and develop solutions to address themExperience working with large datasets, pipelines, modern warehouse technologies, and data processing (real-time and batch) at large scaleCollaborate with other teams to ensure successful implementation of data-driven solutionsDeveloping and implementing best practices for data integration, data quality, and data governanceKeeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and healthcare technologyMonitor system performance and troubleshoot any issuesEnsuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the data platformDevelop and maintain documentation related to the data platform infrastructurePerform incident investigation, diagnosis and provide resolutionEnsures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiativesPromotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application, ensuring compliance with themDemonstrating creative, critical thinking & troubleshooting skillsUp to 10-15% travel may be required (domestic and international)Minimum requirement is to have 7+ years of experienceCritical SkillsStrong experience in designing, developing, and managing data platforms, and be a self-starter who can work independently and in a teamStrong communication skills who quickly establishes credibility and is capable of leading cross-functional technical teamsHighly motivated and technically skilled Senior data platform engineer, and you are passionate about developing data-driven solutionsExperience working with large datasets, pipelines, modern technologies(Snowflake, Databricks), real-time and batchExperience with cloud technologies, such as AzureExperience with distributed systems, streaming systems, and data tools, such as Kubernetes, KafkaDesign and manage data platforms, including data storage, data processing, data securityAdditional Knowledge / Skills:Understanding of the agile software development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)Strong experience with the distributed cluster management. Understanding of Docker/ Kubernetes container orchestration technologies.Able to use sound judgment and prioritizeMust be flexible, team oriented and able to accept and create changeFast and capable learner. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
