Position Description:

Mathematica applies expertise at the intersection of data, methods, policy, and practice to improve well-being around the world. We collaborate closely with public-and private-sector partners to translate big questions into deep insights that improve programs, refine strategies, and enhance understanding using data science and analytics. Our work yields actionable information to guide decisions in wide-ranging policy areas, from health, education, early childhood, and family support to nutrition, employment, disability, and international development. We are looking for temporary, seasonal Research Assessors for the Tulsa School Experiences and Early Development (SEED) Study. This study is designed to address questions related to public pre-k programs and learning more about the initial gains for children whose chances for school success are put at substantial risk by a range of factors (e.g., poverty, dual language learner status, disability status). Given evidence of fade-out of pre-k effects by 3rd grade if not earlier, the study also aims to determine what, if anything, can sustain gains beyond the pre-k years. The new phase of this study will enable us to chart children’s trajectories of recovery across multiple development domains as a function of COVID-related disruptions to their home and school contexts, and to identify risk and protective factors associated with those trajectories.Research Assessors will conduct child assessments in elementary school classrooms while collecting various forms of data. They will also develop expertise on multiple child assessments and classroom observations used in early childhood programs. Data collection will take place from January through May 2025.Mathematica Offers:Flexible work schedule (availability of 20 -25 hours a week, between the hours of 8:30am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday).Mileage reimbursement.Paid web and in-person training.Position Requirements:
