Overview
Bowhead seeks a highly experienced Business Development professional to catalyze new business growth for our Systems and Information Technology (S&IT) Business Line and our Army Cyber market operations.
As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for brand awareness, building, managing, and maturing the Capture opportunities in your pipeline to compete for new business. The individual will be responsible for establishing, maturing, and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities expanding support to our Army customer. The ideal candidate will have superior communication skills and experience working with Army Program Executive Offices (PEO).
Responsibilities
• Develop, mature, and maintain a qualified pipeline of competitive opportunities that support Systems and Information Technology offerings focused on Army operational related needs and requirements
• Lead capture efforts that effectively mature new business opportunities through a Shipley gate process and result in the successful submission of winning proposals
• Actively participate in the development and submission of winning proposals to include close collaboration with leadership, subject matter experts, proposal managers, contracts, pricing, and talent acquisition teams
• Establish effective communication networks with government stakeholders and industry partners to qualify opportunities and gain a better understanding of operational requirements
• Build and foster new relationships with government stakeholders and industry partners
• Manage approved Capture and B&P allocations for a pipeline of new business opportunities
• Market cybersecurity and/or IT services to the government customer
• Identify, plan, and execute strategies to maintain and expand our existing support to Army Cyber customers
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education plus five (5) years operations/project management experience and/or business development experience in a government setting.
• Familiarity with DoD Strategic Cyber initiatives
• Established relationship with strategic cyber entities within DoD (JFHQ-DODIN, AFCYBER, ARCYBER, MARCYBER, etc.)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity operations (DCO and OCO)
• Maintains established relationships with Government customers, stakeholders, and industry teaming partners across the soldier systems, requirements, processes, and solutions landscape.
• Qualified experience successfully leading new business Capture efforts on Prime competitive bids valued at >$20M.
• Successful record of competing for and winning contracts valued at >$20M.
• Adept in developing solutions, conducting competitive assessments, and shaping strategy.
• Quantified experience writing and reviewing proposals.
• Possess effective communication skills - both oral and written (Must be able to communicate with managers, customers, and government stakeholders at all levels).
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Proven ability to work remotely, managing individual workload, priorities, and schedule with little supervision and must possess the highest business, work, and ethical standards. Experience working with DoD prime system contractors/integrators.
• Experience developing and closing on new business opportunities with the Department of Defense.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. An in-scope DoD clearance is preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance.

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
