As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING , you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectContributes to the management of change and its versions with in complex systemProactively manages all the environments and coordinates releases across themProduces playbook for different release styles with accuracyRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languagesExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline of mainframe technologies like COBOL, DB2, REXX, JCL, CICS, etcDemonstrate deep understanding of SCM(Source Code Management) tool such as Change man , Endeavor or similar.Familiarity with scripting languages such as REXX, Easytrieve, XML and automation tools i.e., File-Aid, Syncsort, NDM. Proficiency in Jenkins, Mercury Cloud File Transfer would be an add-onPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to adapt to changing technologies and processes in a dynamic IT environmentIdentify and mitigate risks associated with changes and releasesEnsure that all changes and releases comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirementsWork closely with development, operations, and other IT teams to coordinate changes and releasesAbility to lead and coordinate cross-products teams in an Agile sprinting environment
