Director of Marketing
for The Watermark Hotel, you will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales and marketing activities and the team itself. You will develop and implement a business plan and sales and marketing strategy for the market that ensures attainment of sales goals and profitability to exceed revenue matrixes, gain market share, and grow new account business. Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit and ensure quality.
Effective management of assigned staff to ensure achievement of overall financial results, guest satisfaction and positive team member relations. The
Director of Marketing
focuses on client and hotel objectives in support of Our Quality Pledge and Standards of Service for the B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group's The Watermark Hotel, Wren Tysons & Perch Putt. The Director of Marketing manages the property's reactive and proactive sales & marketing efforts while maintaining accountability for achieving revenue opportunities, and growing market share under the guidance and supervision of the RDOSM and SVP of Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management.
The
Director of Marketing
reports to the RDOSM and SVP of Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management and will engage with Sales and Operations professionals throughout the portfolio.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties and activities:
Develop a marketing strategy to analyze historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create a selling strategy to balance hotel objectives and maximize revenue potential, deploying the sales team as appropriate to maximize revenue performanceTarget high revenue sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established to penetrate new marketsProvide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit marginMaximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and saturating those that offer revenue growthProduce monthly reports and sales forecasts to evaluate current/potential markets and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share then monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue planDevelops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenuesSchedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel and departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the Sales office and prospective clientsMaintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized, and knowledgeable mannerDevelop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interactionKnowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services to include marketing strategy, sales techniques, and tactics to capitalize on profit marginsProvide an environment where development of the team for the team to be successful in achieving goals is presentPromptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient mannerFocus on revenue-producing activity and selling time by a strategic plan that maximizes direct sales effortsAchieve activity goals as established by management and complete all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely fashionDevelop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local communityExhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintain open communications with all co-workers and managers for the best overall performance of the hotel and champion a service and hospitable culture that promote a healthy and productive format of serving others with excellence>
Required Skills and Experience:
Skills and Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrates independent problem-solving skills and identify process improvements needed.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.Strong work ethic and professional focus; High level of integrity and discretion.Ability to work extended hours based on business needs, with physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the extended shift. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds on occasional basis.Experience :At least (3)+ years of sales experience required, with a minimum of 1 year managing direct reports preferred.A proven track record of success in a hotel or a related service industryEducation:2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related major, preferred.Benefits
