Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Specialist to join our Enterprise Middleware Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Middleware infrastructure essential for supporting development teams throughout the system development lifecycle. This team supports Enterprise Applications leveraging various technologies, including DataPower, MQ, WebSphere, IIB/ACE, Apache Tomcat, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
Key Responsibilities:Support and maintain the Enterprise-Class Middleware and Container stack for multiple mission-critical systems.Manage new capabilities, software upgrades/enhancements, and provide direct support and consultation for application onboarding and integration.Participate in on-call support rotation for critical systems.Automate existing and new processes to enhance operational efficiencies.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Middleware and Container technologies.Collaborate with development teams to provide technical expertise and guidance.Ensure high availability and performance of Middleware and Container systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.Continuously improve processes and procedures for Middleware operations.Contribute to the development of overall IT strategies.Stay informed on industry trends in technology and architecture.Participate in team meetings, reviews, and project status reports.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent business experience.Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and Web protocols (HTTP, XML).Minimum 2 years of experience with AIX and RHEL.5 years of experience supporting IBM Middleware products: WebSphere, MQ, DataPower, IHS.Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Red Hat OpenShift.3-5 years of experience supporting Apache, Tomcat, and ColdFusion.Previous experience administering DataPower preferred.Familiarity with tools such as UrbanCode, Spring Boot, and GIT.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ansible, GO, PHP, and JavaScript, as well as experience with YAML/JSON.Experience in designing and engineering environments in a 24/7 mission-critical setting.Understanding of design principles for high availability solutions using local and geographic clustering and load balancing.Experience with Kubernetes, including troubleshooting POD startup failures and creating/editing Docker files.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting AWS is preferred.Experience in the financial services sector or relevant knowledge is a plus.Microsoft Office proficiency.Experience working in a multi-platform environment.Other Traits, Characteristics & Experience:
Ability to remain calm under pressure, as the position will require on-call duties and participation in bridge calls to troubleshoot active production issues.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
