Sr. Java Engineer
Hiring a Java Engineer to join the team with a strong passion for security to support our client's cyber security product suite, which includes Network Access Control, Endpoint Compliance, Mobile Control, and Intrusion Prevention to perform software upgrades like upgrading from IPv4 to IPv6 as well as other items.
LOCATION: Plano, TX 75093 (Hybrid- 3 days onsite per week)POSITION: ContractSCHEDULE: 8AM - 5PMPAY RANGE: $65hr W2 or $70hr 1099BENEFITS: Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Telehealth, Prescription Drug Discount Plan etc.**US Citizen or Green Card Holder. Responsibilities:
Development of new security features and maintenance of existing onesAnalyzing customer escalation issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless information flow for resolving critical customer issues.Handle the resolution of technical issues by doing the following:
Analyze the available data to identify and narrow down root causeInvestigate the technical issueAttempt or drive reproduction of customer issue in houseDescribe in detail the issue to support engineers or customersIdentify and develop the software code changes to resolve it.
Analyze and report defects on software to improve conformance, stability and supportabilityUnderstand customer network architecture and design and accordingly provide alternative solutions when applicable to achieve greater stability or performance.Provide technical leadership to internal teamsAbility to Mentor other Engineers on techniques and methodologies of troubleshooting and supporting products and solutions as neededActively suggest and describe ways to improve the supportability for products.Use Kanban development methodology to deliver on tasks
Networking:
Good understanding of TCP/IP.Knowledge in protocols (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, 802.1 x).Familiar with network equipment configuration (Switch, Router, FW).Windows-based networks, domain managementLow-level network monitoring and sniffing (Experience with sniffers).
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.8+ years of experience in Java software development or sustaining engineering preferably in Network or Endpoint securityDeep knowledge of software engineering concepts and techniques.C/C++ experience.Perl experienceLinux/Unix development experience.Linux system/environment experience (scripting languages, regular exp., awk, sed, etc.)Networking: Good understanding of TCP/IP.IPV4 and IPV6Knowledge in protocols (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, 802.1 x).Familiar with network equipment configuration (Switch, Router, FW)Windows-based networks, domain managementLow-level network monitoring and sniffing (Experience with sniffers).
