OverviewAbacus Technology is seeking a PC Technician to provide desktop and end user support within the Department of State.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Install COTS software, patches and updates (Office 2016, Symantec, Adobe, Chrome, Windows).

Support the operation and management of a Microsoft WSUS server and an Antivirus server.

Assist with IT security auditing.

Interact with end user to identify and resolve a variety of issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and server or network connectivity.

Open and log trouble tickets in the call tracking system to track issues from identification through resolution.

Provide phone support and direct user support for use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, email and operating systems.

Maintain desktops (including upgrades and configuration); configure laptops; create accounts, accesses, and permissions.

Communicate technical information in a non-technical manner.

Maintain printers, Servers and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.) and assist with relocation of staff and equipment moves.

Update and maintain online inventory of all equipment, software, and license users.

Qualifications2+ years experience in a help desk or technical support role.

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field.

Must be Security+ CE certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II).

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Active Directory, and MS Office 2016.

In-depth knowledge of operating systems, applications, printers, and PC hardware.

Solid customer service skills, including good communication and the ability to demonstrate professionalism.

Strong customer service and communication skills required; verbal and written.

Able to lift up to 50lbs.

Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise.

Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices.

Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
