Director Regional Payer Accounts (TX, OK, AK)
The Director Regional Payer Accounts will lead customer engagement strategies, manage Regional Payer and PBM customer relationships and deliver profitable access, reimbursement, and appropriate policy for Bayer brands:
The individual will collaborate with Sales Leadership to drive performance of Regional Payers utilizing the DSO (Dynamic Shared Ownership) Model in working in 90-day cycles. The individual will be the strategic lead, developing strategy and managing resources that fosters positive access results, either as part of a Mission Team or routine activity. Coordination with the field, National Account team and FRM teams, is critical, to foster the collaborative engagement with the DSO squads.
The individual will serve as the Pull-through Lead for their respective geographies and work closely with the AGM (Area General Manager) and selling squads to drives performance, including being part of a Mission initiative.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Regional Payer Accounts (TX, OK, AK) are to:
Execute Customer Strategy and Business Development:
Deliver and maintain profitable access, advantageous policy, and appropriate reimbursement for Bayer products at Regional customer accounts through commercialization of launch products and life cycle management of portfolio;
Create innovative strategic business opportunities to drive profitable short and long term customer partnerships;
Deep insight into customer enterprise, policy, benefit, clinical evaluation, and legislation impact to the customer and the regional market;
Own Regional Marketing knowledge and implications to how the Regional customers behave and the implication to our Bayer product portfolio;
Determine strategic direction of customer engagements that would best drive product access with Pharmacy Directors and clinical teams;
Accountable to drive outcomes and flawless execution of developed plan Ability to navigate deep into the payer/PBM, manage executive engagements, foster customer touch points within Pharmacy, Medical, policy, and reimbursement;
Drive payer access across regional Payers through alignment of National PBM wins;
Create and co-lead Mission Teams with customers squads focus on critical access needs as appropriate.
Internal Collaborating, Coordinating and Alignment:
Leverage a coordinated approach, applying Dynamic Shared Ownership model, to effectively drive surround sound effect to payers, and accelerate performance by serving as consultant on PA process push and pull through;
Resource Management: effective use of Medical/HEOR, Brand Teams and pull-through Strategy Leads to optimize customer opportunities
Customer resource through knowledge of Bayer relevant therapeutic areas and market trends that are current, intensive data analytics for category performance, and field level KOL knowledge of product real world use and trending treatment algorithms for best in class account resource;
Identify and monitor new or evolving market dynamics and impact to customer systems and provide input internally for prioritizing coverage for optimal access.
Performance Management and Resource Alignment:
As the regional point person for the eco-system, manage strategy across the organization through Coordination and alignment of AGM, MAC’s, FRMs, RAD’s, while working with payer marketing, pull-through strategy, and contracting to remove silos within Bayer to accomplish customer strategy;
Attract and maintain best in class account management resources. Share leadership skills in implementing Missions by providing;
Analyze available data inputs, market insights and customer insights to prioritize opportunities;
Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, HEOR, Medical to deliver a seamless, proactive Bayer approach to regional customers;
Represent Bayer as a steward to key events/conferences - expected to cover Congresses and national customer forums/meetings.
Meet departmental and brand expectations inclusive of stretch goals through appropriate resource management, strategic innovative thinking;
Drive innovation through novel and best in class approaches, with DSO teaming for flawless execution;
Understands the long-term impact based on market dynamics now and in the future, and facilitates strategy, and plan implementation to produce long term profitable access while meeting short term goals;
Meet departmental and brand expectations inclusive of stretch goals through appropriate resource management, strategic innovative thinking;
Drive innovation through novel and best in class approaches, with DSO teaming for flawless execution;

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree;
Experience in management roles in the pharmaceutical industry, Managed Markets experience and experience in a supervisory role, or position leading a team or teams through influence required;
Experience executing market access strategies for PBM and Payer accounts;
In-depth understanding of how Payer and PBM businesses operate and generate revenue nationally and within the market;
Identifies future policies, practices and trends with Payers and PBM’s and with competition in the marketplace;
Consistently applies a business driver and marketplace focus when prioritizing actions with Payers and PBM’s and cross functionally within Bayer;
Sees the big picture, constantly imagines future scenarios, and creates strategies to sustain competitive advantage for Bayer products. Is a visionary with Payers and PBMs and able to articulate credible scenarios and visions of possibilities with clear actionable plans;
Formulates a clear strategy and maps aggressive steps that will accelerate the organization toward meeting it’s strategic goals;
Ability to collaborate with regional Payers to strategically apply business practices and aligned strategies that will enable both organizations to meet business objectives;
Cultivates Innovation (Regional Market- customer and stakeholders);
Moves beyond the traditional ways of doing things; pushes the status quo;

Pull through formulary access for national PBMs Collaborates (Regional Market stakeholders- FRM, KAM, FSD, AVP’s, AGM, RAD,)
DSO Model collaboration across Bayer and the customer squads, utilizing indirect leadership skills;
Facilitates dialogue and strategy of a wide variety of stakeholders Promotes high visibility of shared contributions to goals;
Aligns stakeholders for common strategy, gains buy in, and sets clear goals;
Valid Driver’s License and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines base on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA preferred 10+ years related work experience;
3+ years of Managed Market Experience;
Exposure to contract development and negotiations for same preferred;
Tackles tough assignments – finds solutions with vigor;
Promotes a sense of urgency, establishing and upholding individual accountability, producing profitable outcomes;
Always keeps the end in sight; puts in extra effort to meet deadlines and persists in the face of challenges and setbacks;

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $191,930 to $287,896. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
