You will build and lead the business team behind the foundational technologies that help developers build, grow, and scale apps and app marketplaces — including programming languages and development tools that make it easy to build apps for Apple’s ecosystem, specialized software development kits with over 250,000 APIs, beta testing services and feedback programs, distribution via marketplaces and web, and so much more.

Description

As the Director of Business for Marketplace Platforms, you will work alongside cross-functional partners such as finance, product, developer relations, operations, legal, and PR to oversee Apple’s marketplace platforms strategy and business development, including the Core Technology Fee (CTF) and alternative distribution channels on iOS and iPadOS. Responsibilities Include: - Develop strategy to manage and grow alternative distribution and the Core Technology Fee business in Europe. - Identify new market trends, uncover business opportunities, and engage with key partners to propose and lead critical initiatives to grow the business. - Leverage data analytics and reporting to understand impact of product, policy, business model enhancements and translate them into insights that inform decision-making and new strategies. - Represent the business and provide developer insights to continuously improve the alternative distribution experience with product, engineering, and design. - Build organization to oversee business planning, analysis and forecasting, and marketplace business development and developer engagement for alternative distribution and the CTF. - Inform executive leadership of business performance and progress on strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

15+ years of experience in a senior role leading a global business for a software platform, online marketplace, digital service, content platform, or mobile e-commerce product, including meeting regulatory compliance obligations

Significant experience driving revenue growth and market development from the ground up

Experience engaging effectively with C-suite executives, including handling high stakes decisions with ease, delivering effective presentations, influencing decision-makers to adopt a recommendation

Experience managing and professionally developing a team, overseeing a portfolio of multi-year projects toward completion

Strong strategic and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively using data and insights

Excellent written & verbal business communication skills

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture

Exceptional interpersonal skills; proven track record of successfully influencing and negotiating with partners and working cross-functionally to achieve goals; able to thrive in highly collaborative projects, and navigate ambiguity

Strong knowledge of competitive and 3rd party products and competitor strategy

Strong knowledge of European Union consumer market

Fluency with Keynote

BA/BS or equivalent; Advanced degree a plus

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $255,400 and $408,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
