Certified Fortinet Network Engineer
OneSource Building Technologies (OSBT) provides integrated, value-added solutions and services to large-scale national and international customers with a global service provider network, a single point of contact, accountability, consistent quality and on-time delivery. We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Fortinet Certified Engineer (Houston, TX) with proven experience in designing, configuring, implementing, testing, and documenting wireless networks. This individual will provide advanced network implementation, support and troubleshooting services using best practices for implementing solutions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities• Fortinet Tier 3 Delivery and Support is needed to ensure successful, smooth delivery of Fortinet SDWAN deployment from installation and into steady state Year 1.• Fortinet engineer will act as a technical consultant on design and deployment configurations on FortiManager and the configs that cascade out to the Fortigates contributing the latest, updated Fortinet best practices.• Support will be Normal Business hours during Steady State and Planning• Support will be "on call" and/or "after hours" 25% of the one-year implementation (15 months) time usage.• Devise, plan, deploy, and improve wireless networks from the beginning to implementation by collaborating with vendors, managers, and network engineers• Perform the installation, configuration, and maintenance of wireless equipment, network management, and security standards.• Design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks• Give technical direction and oversight to operational teams• Use tools to evaluate to test and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network amplifiers, among others.• Author full site survey reports based on survey data using Visio and Microsoft Word• Determine possible risk associated to work being requested to be performed• Optimize network performance by supervising performance, addressing network problems and breakdowns, and partnering with network engineers to optimize the network.• Develop wireless network infrastructure and make recommendations on system enhancements for optimization• Performs analysis of the network capacity from various systems to ensure engineering specifications are compliant with standards• Proactively handle all network security solutions• Putting solutions in place to continuously test network performance• Testing and modifying equipment as needed
Requirements• At least 5 years network engineering experience• Fortinet Certified Fundamentals• Fortinet Certified Associate• 3 years of tier 2 & 3 call center or Help desk 1.5 experience• Understanding and working knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols and standards• Experience with cloud-connected Wi-Fi systems and equipment• Experience in deploying and integrating secured wireless networks• Strong documentation skills using Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel• Experience in deploying or supporting security best practices and technologies such as risk or vulnerability assessments, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, centralized alert logging and monitoring in ICS environments• Familiarity with data networking (OSI model, protocols, routing and switching)
