Job Description Summary
The Lead Project Planning Specialist – Marine is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders, project managers, technical experts and project leads on the creation and maintenance of project schedules. In this role, the Lead Project Planning Specialist will ensure that the project goals and deliverables defined with the customer are captured and maintained properly within the tool to maximize on-time delivery and influence future program management decisions and actions. Additionally, the Specialist will partner with the Operations team to promote the schedule as a beneficial, integrated management tool that provides quality analysis of the data and ensuring that it meets the reporting standards. The Specialist will report to the Marine Operations Leader and support multiple project managers in both equipment/service across the Marine portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the development of detailed schedules, in Primavera P6, from cradle to completion in alignment with customer requirements. (i.e., project/contract milestones, design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and close out)
Generate graphical reports using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel for both internal and external customers
Provide consulting support to technical work scope owners by analyzing program plans to help develop proposal and preliminary schedules
Act as the scheduling point of contact in audits and program reviews
Participate in project meetings, schedule follow-up meetings representing both project and planning interests
Evaluate project schedule and progress for validity and accuracy of project and resource requirements
Provide weekly/monthly accurate and realistic assessment of project schedules, identify, and report problem areas, work with the project and engineering teams to track solutions and corrective actions
Constantly monitor OTD (On Time Delivery) performance and objectives per schedule and work with project team to reach project milestones successfully
Create and update scheduling procedures and standard work within the operations team
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in project planning using logic driven scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project or Open Plan
Desired Characteristics
Hands-on experience with Primavera (P6) and / or Advanced level experience with Microsoft Project is required
Experience with analyzing schedules for quality in their construction
Demonstrates proficiency in efficient and effective schedule analysis
Must be proficient in MS Office Programs
Experience in Power Conversion business and knowledge of products
Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices
Organized and self-motivated with excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple shifting priorities while adhering to deadlines.
Ability to interface with difficult customers, customizing planning activities according to specific needs and requirements
Strong influencing skills when dealing with functions and planning their activities
Knowledge of SAP
The salary range for this position is 87,000.00 – 116,000.00 – 145,000.00 USD Annual . The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
