Are you ready to put your years of experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS) under our Platform Laboratory Systems & Design (PLSD) group. PLSD provides sustainment support for the B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
You will Lead Engineers in execution of various program activities, to include Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and products for defense or commercial systems.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff
Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing mgmt. guidelines & general policies
Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro-mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis in order to recommend component substitutions or re-design solutions to ensure the integrity of the platform configuration, system safety, and performance specifications
Responsible for planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract
Direct all phases of Engineering design projects from proposal through test and delivery
Work with multiple teams and cross-functional departments to achieve successful outcomes
Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
Identify program problems and assist in the establishing of solutions, such as allocation of resources, improved processes, or changing contractual specifications
Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of programs
Support process improvement and establishment
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Generate reports and presents to Government counterparts, defense contractors, and other cross-functional organizations
Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
Basic Qualifications:
Must either have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience or a master’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience
Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in: Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, and/or Program Management related functions.Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills
Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams
Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain access to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
Previous functional management experience leading a team of engineers for at least 1 year or more
Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level
Experience with nuclear hardened systems
Experience with information security, COMSEC and TEMPEST
Experience with DOORS and general requirements management best practices
Experience with embedded software development and/or cybersecurity
Experience in Nuclear Surety
Working knowledge of Earned Value, with the ability to build milestone schedules for execution purposes
Experience in an Agile development environment
Experience conducting analysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs, determining effectiveness, and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness
Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
Experience with CAD or similar design tools, with aerospace systems
Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards
Salary Range: $124,200 - $186,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
