POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced, creative, high-performing, and intrapreneurial engineering manager to join our team in developing next-generation Advanced Energy products for the Semiconductor and Industrial temperature measurement and control industries. The Engineering Manager is responsible to lead a multi-discipline product delivery team of RF, electrical, mechanical and software engineers and coordinate with other cross functional teams to launch new products and systems on time and on budget. This role has high visibility within the division and with the customer which will showcase your problem solving and communication skills.

Ideal candidates will have a system engineering focus to consider the product, custom configurations, interfaces, and functionality needed to solve our customer’s problems. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage new platform implementation and rapid prototype derivatives.

Provide engineering leadership with a systems focus for measurement and control products.

Refine and allocate detailed requirements to components, ensuring alignment with customer needs.

Communicate goals, objectives, and priorities to the team, ensuring alignment with customer commitments.

Use an agile approach to prioritize critical functionality.

Identify, manage, and mitigate risks for technology and customer commitments.

Implement best practices within a cross-functional design team.

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for design engineers in the US and abroad.

Execute programs according to the Product Development Process (PDP).

Create and support project documents (e.g., product requirements, design specifications, project plans, test plans).

Communicate progress to leadership against team commitments.

Collaborate with AE cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, NPI, purchasing, quality, program management, finance, safety, production).

Review technology readiness with the AE advanced development team for new product launches.

Align with customer teams on requirements and scope, support system integration, and respond to issues and escalations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

On-site; Standard office environment

Occasional travel domestic and international for short periods

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong problem-solving skills focused on quality, safety, cost, and delivery schedules.

Proven track record of product launches; rapid prototyping experience is a plus.

Strong team player skills and attitude.

EXPERIENCE:

8-10 years of industry experience, preferably with sensors and/or photo-electronics.

Project leadership experience required; people management experience preferred.

Leading engineering teams using agile principles and tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project).

Test and debug with lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, function generators, JTAG).

Expertise in analysis, prototyping, simulation, and validation of circuit designs; RF or sensor experience preferred.

Programming/scripting skills (e.g., assembly, C, Python); Verilog/VHDL is a plus.

Experience in semiconductor process equipment design preferred.

Familiarity with optomechanical design, DFM, DFA, and system design creation.

Knowledge of Gauge R&R, ECO process, and manufacturing transfer processes.

Working knowledge of UL, CSA, ATEX, NEMA, ANSI, IPC specifications; UL/CSA compliance.

Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project).

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (master’s or PhD preferred).

PMP or Agile certification.

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 to $175,000 per year.
