SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and directs the provision of resident care in the Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (Department). This position is responsible for all planning, organizing, staffing, directing, budgeting, reporting, compliance with regulatory and accreditation authorities, etc. necessary to insure considerate, private and respectful resident care. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly manages supervisory and non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Long-Term Care Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. LICENSE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Current Texas Nursing Home Administrators License. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of Medicare / Medicaid regulations Knowledge of Federal, State, and MCHD standards for health care providers Knowledge of utilization review and case management procedures. Personal computer skills. Excellent verbal / written communication skills
