Product Portfolio Management is crucial to AI initiatives at Weyerhaeuser as it ensures that geospatial AI projects align with the company's strategic vision and deliver tangible business value. By owning the definition of the 'what' and 'why,' product management provides clarity and direction, ensuring that every AI project is purposeful and aligned with organizational goals. They drive the design of AI solutions with a customer-centric approach, developing use cases, user stories, and product designs that directly address customer needs and pain points. Additionally, product managers develop detailed business cases, ROI analyses, and benefit realization plans, ensuring that AI initiatives are not only launched successfully but also deliver the expected value over time. This role also takes ownership of validating that the planned benefits of AI projects are realized, ensuring long-term success and alignment with Weyerhaeuser’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Lead Geospatial AI Strategy: Align geospatial AI projects with Weyerhaeuser’s strategic objectives to drive business value across real estate and timberlands operations.Develop and Maintain AI Roadmap: Build and continuously update a detailed AI roadmap, outlining milestones, timelines, and deliverables to guide geospatial AI project execution.Leverage Advanced Geospatial Technologies: Utilize cutting-edge geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, UAVs) and AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, computer vision) to optimize land management, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making.Collaborate with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with business users, forestry experts, and technical teams to define AI-powered geospatial products and services that address operational needs and challenges.Manage Full Product Lifecycle: Take ownership of geospatial AI products, overseeing their entire lifecycle—from development, launch, iteration, to retirement—ensuring service quality and benefits realization.Evangelize AI Solutions: Effectively communicate and promote the value of AI-driven geospatial initiatives to internal teams, executives, external partners, and clients, driving engagement and support.Ensure AI Safety and Governance: Establish and implement safety, governance, and ethical guidelines for the responsible use of geospatial AI technologies within Weyerhaeuser.
Measure Business Impact: Monitor and validate the success of geospatial AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maximizing long-term business impact.
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field: Required in fields such as geography, computer science, or data science; advanced degrees or certifications in geospatial, AI/ML, or related technologies are preferred.
Proficiency in Geospatial and AI Technologies: 5 years of experience with geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, UAVs) and AI/ML applications, particularly in land management, forestry, or real estate.Experience with AI Product Roadmapping: Proven ability to create and manage strategic AI product roadmaps that align with business goals and long-term objectives.Strong Communication and Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to explain complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and lead cross-functional teams to success.Expertise in Cloud and Edge Technologies: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and edge computing, with advanced knowledge of geospatial data processing tools and techniques.AI/ML Frameworks Expertise: Experience with AI/ML tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and working with technical teams to design and implement geospatial AI models.Business Case Development and ROI Analysis: Skilled in developing detailed business cases, ROI analyses, and benefit realization plans for geospatial AI initiatives.Visionary Leadership in Geospatial AI: Forward-thinking leader with the ability to anticipate trends in geospatial AI technologies and apply them strategically to business challenges.Track Record of Driving Innovation: Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of innovative AI solutions that enhance business performance and deliver measurable improvements.Data Analytics Proficiency: Proficient in geospatial data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to track, measure, and report on the business impact of AI initiatives.
What We Offer
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $125,995 - $189,130 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
