Description

The UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations and Grant Administration Supervisor. Under minimal supervision of the Director and Executive Committee, you will be responsible for managing the operations and overseeing pre- and post-award activities for the Center. You will provide immediate oversight of the UCLA Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research Laboratory and spearhead the development and management of the UCLA Psychedelic Studies Initiative. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with research faculty to ensure the timely preparation and submission of grant applications, the efficient operation of the Center, and the accurate financial reporting on Contracts & Grants.

Pay Range: $76,200.00 - $158,800.00 annually

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

10 years or more of financial, clerical or administrative experience.

5 years or more of research administration experience.

Prior experience in managing clinical trials dealing with scheduled substances

Active CITI HIPAA and CITI Good Clinical Practice certifications required

Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor's guidelines.

Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques.

Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.

Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators and administration and to work as a member of a team.

Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with University and funding agency policies and regulations.

Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions.

Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately.

Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios.

Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors: federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc.

Working knowledge of various financial concepts, research administration policies and procedures, and contract and grant funding agency guidelines.
