The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the EP division.
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Sr. Program Manager, you'll have the chance lead the dedicated team developing one of Abbott Electrophysiology’s newest therapy catheters. Develop a disruptive technology in electrophysiology that promises to revolutionize patient treatment and prove its safety, efficacy, and efficiency. This is a top priority program with high visibility in a double-digit growth business that will play a major role in shaping our future portfolio.
What You’ll Work On
Optimize the plans driving the development effort with an 80% confidence schedule and contract agreed to with executive leadership
Leverage a dedicated cross functional core team to update plans and ensure functional leadership is in alignment
Incorporate input from the extended team assigned to develop the product
Coordinate resources to optimize team efficiency and manage budget to plan
Lead and inspire the dedicated development team to select a design
Cast vision highlighting the unmet need that describes the “why” behind the program
Use your experience in developing complex medical device disposable products to guide the team through challenges
Balance development speed with feature scope while meeting Abbott’s high-quality expectations
Release the product for clinical investigations
Fastidiously maintain scope while identifying and mitigating program risks
Collaborate with teams developing complimentary system components to ensure success of the total solution
Apply your knowledge and experience with FDA and EU MDR to optimize the path to release
Maintain and update key deliverables to follow portfolio management process at various stage gates
Schedule and manage monthly business review meetings to communicate progress to Portfolio Review Board (PRB)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline
12+ years of leadership experience in a medical device, biomedical or high technology industry
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced level degree(s) in Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline
Extensive medical device industry experience
4+ years project management of sterile disposable medical devices
