AWS Cloud Architect

A SaaS company is seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Architect to assist our teams in modernizing our core application stack to the cloud. This role will be a key member of the team responsible for delivering the design and roadmap to transform our software stack and move to a SaaS enabled framework. Additionally, the expectation that the design is highly reliable, scalable and meets industry required security framework requirements such as HIPAA.This is a 6-9 month contract which will require 5 days onsite in the Plano, TX, office or for non local candidates, a hybrid schedule traveling into the office 3 days a week and working 2 days from home.Responsibilities:Cloud Architecture: Design and implement a robust cloud architecture that aligns with best practices.AWS Services: Leverage a deep understanding of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS) to build a scalable and efficient solutionMigration Strategy: Develop and execute a migration strategy to successfully transition workloads to AWSAutomation: Implement automation and DevOps practices to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.Security: Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments by implementing appropriate security measures and adhering to industry standards.Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize cloud costs and maximize resource utilizationMentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members around AWS and cloud refactoring strategy.Qualifications:7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering with a strong focus on AWSStrong knowledge of networking, security and compliance best practicesProven track record of designing and implementing complex software solutions via AWSDeep understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS and more.AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional) are preferred.Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to lead by example and work as a part of an extended global teamStrong communication skills both verbal and written
