GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Laboratory / Quality Manager is responsible for supporting product quality assurance, ATEX Quality System, product testing capabilities, data analysis, and follow testing standards to keep ATEX current with QA testing changes / updates. Also, the Assistant Laboratory / Quality Assurance Manager will support the production and sales departments with various tasks, such as production trials, quality bench marking, and technical support. The position is responsible for managing continuous (24/7/365) operations and personnel in the Laboratory Department, and arranging coverage as needed to maintain full shifts.
The following is a general list of duties that will be performed by the Assistant Laboratory / Quality Assurance Manager as required. Each duty may be not be required on a daily basis, but may be required as deemed necessary. This list is not all-inclusive; therefore, various duties or changes may occur as required.

FUNCTIONS:
Quality Assurance-
Create, review, and update internal product specifications.Establish and maintain records of customer product quality requirements and specifications.Ensure product testing and roll check results meet or exceed customer requirements, or, in their absence, internal product specifications.Create certificates, reports and/or summaries of product data as required by customers.Follow COAs to make certain they have been forwarded to Shipping for production order release.Review product testing summaries for overall trends or patterns.Participate in data collection and review of customer specifications.Drive statistical process control data acquisition and organization.Maintain the ISO 9001 quality program.Prepare ATEX Safety Data Sheets, and maintain the SDS program, to include annual audits.
ATEX Quality System-
Participate in internal and external ISO audits.Maintain calibration of lab equipment and related records.Actively participate on the Quality Management Team.Prepare and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
Product Testing Capabilities-
Supervise and organize work schedules for the Laboratory Technicians, maintaining continuous laboratory coverage.
Ensure all internal testing complies with appropriate and current test methods (e.g. ASTM, EDANA, ISO).
Ensure adequate maintenance and calibration of all testing equipment and related systems.
Manage any outside testing to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
