The Position
The Director of Organon Commercial Data & Analytics Business Technology (BT) oversees the data-related initiatives, manages efficient analytics solution delivery and ensures the effective preparation of A.I.-ready data products for the Commercial function within Organon. This position involves delivering valuable business outcomes by collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing data governance and architecture practices, and promoting data-driven decision-making.
The Organon Data and Analytics organization is transforming the availability and consumption of data to enable artificial intelligence and data-driven insights for internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking an energetic, forward-thinking leader that will continue to develop our data-related competency areas and solutions that support founders across our Commercial function. More specifically, the leader will have the following primary responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Shape the vision and drive the agenda for a modern, AI-ready data and analytics capability across Organon’s Commercial function. Provide guidance and support to the company on data & analytics principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs to valuable data & analytics products. Define or harmonize strategies and roadmaps for the organization in alignment with desired business outcomes and regulatory requirements.
Provide overall leadership and fulfill day-to-day management responsibilities for the Commercial data & analytics technology squads, fostering a highly-collaborative, customer-centric, and innovative work environment. Ensure appropriate hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation of staff performance.
Evaluate and select external vendors for data-related services.
Drive delivery of data and analytics products through aligned squads and service factories (chapters), maturing SAFe/DevOps discipline.
Implement Organon Data & Analytics data architecture and data governance policies, procedures, guidelines, and templates, and ensure their adherence and consistency.
Explore opportunities within the functions to imagine and deliver future-state capabilities (e.g. AI-augmented analytics, citizen data scientists, data literacy programs).
Oversee Organon Commercial Data & Analytics portfolio of solutions, activities, and deliverables, and ensure their completion, leveraging the Scaled Agile / Program Increment Planning framework.
Manage all solution delivery and licensing financials and value-oriented business cases.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
B.A./B.S. Degree in Computer Information Sciences, Business Management, or related field; Advanced degree is preferred.
At least Ten years relevant experience in IT leadership position.
Demonstrated experience in delivering large, data intensive technology solutions within a Commercial pharmaceutical company, including data integration, master data management, data harmonization, and enabling broader data access to support self-service analytics.
Ability to develop, articulate, and build support around a long-term strategy and implement incremental milestones in support of that strategy.
Direct experience with large-scale IT systems development, portfolio and program management, and financial management is essential.
Demonstrated experience working with and deploying technology capabilities globally.
Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives in a matrix organization, managing cross-divisional initiatives, and cross-functional teams in an extremely dynamic environment.
Vendor management experience is required.

Ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively, and to solve complex problems.
