ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The System Manager, National Internal Traveler Program manages and leads the National Internal Travelers within CommonSpirit Health (CSH). This position provides clinical and operational management to support current and future CSH internal travelers; using strong financial and strategic judgment while embodying the values of CSH. This position is responsible for effectively leading and managing the internal travel team across our ministry. Responsible for the implementation and day-to-day management of the national internal travel program in accordance with the mission, vision and values of CommonSpirit Health. The System Manager works collaboratively with local and national leaders to optimize internal labor utilization. Creates and drives clinical excellence across all regions, markets and clinical departments. Responsible for ensuring national travelers maintain and achieve high standards of care as evidenced byoperational outcomes aligned with financial, clinical and workforce goals. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance to federal and state rules and regulations; compliance to Accreditation body standards and CommonSpirit Health policies and procedures. This position will work closely and in collaboration with frontline staff, leaders, and executive management to ensure a seamless and high performing approach to staffing and patient care. A high degree of professional competence and autonomy will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) clinician, 2) educator, 3) consultant/collaborator, 4) leader.ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and management of internal traveler staffing operations for the CSH enterprise, planning for and ensuring the provision of high-quality staffing services in the most cost-effective manner
Responsible for the smooth and effective operations of the internal traveler program including scheduling and managing requests, managing time and attendance, monitoring and distributing necessary reports to key stakeholders.
Compiles data for the purpose of quality improvement and compliance with organizational and departmentpolicies, work aids, and algorithms
Holds nursing and other staff accountable to the established standards

Supports the System Director in preparation of reports, program material, research, data collecting and analysis for various meetings and/or programs
Actively participates in program growth and improvement focusing on national staffing needs
Manages internal traveler staff in accordance with established guidelines and supports staff in learning and upholding high patient care standards
Provides day to day supervision and training support
Creates an “expectation of excellence” and manages performance of direct reports to maximize the value of employees’ contributions towards organizational success.
Establishes strategically aligned goals with staff.
Encourages and creates opportunities for continuous improvement of staff by providing frequent coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Provides direction and support to staff to deliver quality services with a focus on organizational success.
Recruits and retains qualified, productive and customer-focused employees.
Interviews, hires and orients direct reports.
Monitors recruitment and retention activities and costs.
Provides fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
Creates a high performing work environment characterized by transparent and open communication, mutual trust and respect.
Provides education and training for employees in support of career goals and the organization’s mission and strategies.
Maintains employee engagement and positive staff morale, observable through team spirit, a sense of belonging and recognition of accomplishments.
QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
RN required, Bachelor’s in Nursing degree required.
Masters degree, preferred
Minimum of 10 years of recent experience as licensed nurse
Minimum 5 years of management/leadership experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
Current license Registered Nurse
Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) or multi-state licensure
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Knowledge and ability to facilitate supplemental staffing practices across multiple sites
Effective communication skills
High level of emotional intelligence and regulation
Experience in establishing and maintaining behavior andperformance expectations.
