It also conducts inventory and ordering and advances lab efficiency and sustainability practices. The lab manager also acts as the safety officer and coordinator. The manager is responsible for instruction and training on laboratory protocols and maintaining the lab's strain archive and sample database.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in any Life Science or Engineering Field, including Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in any Life Science or Engineering Field1-3 years Working in life science or engineering lab at UCSBPrior hands-on experience with laboratory work, chemical and biological handling, and laboratory equipment is strongly desired.Special Conditions of Employment:Satisfactory criminal history background checkPosition is funded by federal contract/sub-contract and requires E-Verify checkUCSB is a Tobacco-Free environmentJob Functions and Percentages of Time:50% Lab Equipment
