Position Summary:

Parker Lord's APS Division is seeking a Field Application Engineer in Reno, NV. Daily responsibilities include providing mechanical technical service on application equipment and providing chemical technical service on Parker Lord Products. Additionally, the role will provide Application Engineering support for opportunities and customers in the West Coast of the United States and Western Canada. This position requires significant drive, independence, and communication due to it being a field position. After-hours support of the customer is expected. Work experience in a manufacturing environment, customer engagement, mechanical equipment, and/or chemical adhesives products are beneficial.

Essential Functions:

On call 24/7 for customer support of Parker Lord products in production at a customer site and prototype trials.

Initial 3 month training visiting Parker Lord sites in Cary (NC), Wixom (MI), Indianapolis (IN), and Saegertown (PA) as well as various customer sites and/or MMD Manufacturers.

After initial training, travel requirements would be 20-25% depending on need.

Collaboration daily with customer engineering, operators, and staff. Remote interfacing with Parker Lord manufacturing, technology, and business staff.

Communication: Frequent verbal and written reports needed for Parker Lord internal use and external customer use.

Mechanical Support: Troubleshooting meter-mix-dispensing equipment, and various equipment associated with Parker Lord products.

Chemical Support: Troubleshooting chemical adhesives aspects of Parker Lord products.

Perform routine and non-routine technical service in a customer manufacturing environment. Tasks will be of moderate to high complexity and variety; frequently make decisions independently.

Determine appropriate approach, follow accepted procedures, develop new procedures and communicate findings in an effective manner.

Oversee equipment, Parker Lord product application and inventory.

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar field.

Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant or chemical lab environment with some customer interaction is preferred.

Operate in a safe manner with high quality and ethics in an active customer manufacturing environment, following customer policies and procedures and Parker Lord policies.

Possess strong attention to detail.

Possess adequate visual acuity to read and understand chemical container labels and to safely work in a chemical laboratory with hazardous chemicals.

Possess a good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to apply basic statistics and interpret and communicate results.

Ability to utilize computerized equipment and computer software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
