Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Operations Control, the QA/QC Lead is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control practices and product quality for Ritchey Metals Company. The QA/QC Lead is responsible for ensuring that the operations teams are consistently following the documented procedures and meeting the company's standards for product quality. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining the quality critical equipment and documentation. And resolving any issues that may arise impacting the company's ability to meet its Quality Objectives.
To accomplish these responsibilities the QA/QC Lead must closely coordinate with the other team members in Quality and Operations Control and work cooperatively with plant operations, maintenance, and all other RMC departments. The QA/QC Lead must bring positive attitude and energy to the job and be able to use data and reasoning to solve problems.
Primary Responsibilities
QA/QC Lead has a wide range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Daily Quality Control
Eyes on the process, Eyes on the product, Eyes on the Analysis
Establish and maintain routines for daily inspection of product quality including both physical properties and chemical analysis. Document results of these inspections.Establish and maintain processes, procedures and work-steps designed to maximize productivity and quality while operating in a safe work environment.Audit adherence to the established procedures. Coach on the procedures and report issues that cannot be resolved by immediate correction.Assist in development of standards for raw materials and other feedstock purchased by company for production requirements. Execute procedures to ensure that incoming materials meet those specifications.Organize Root Cause Analysis of customer complaints and document results of the investigation.
Monitoring and Measuring Equipment
Spectrometers, Scales, Gauges, and Other Instrumentation
Maintain appropriate documentation for monitoring and measuring equipment as required by customers, accreditation bodies like ISO and other parties.Perform Preventative Maintenance and calibrations on testing and inspection equipment necessary to evaluate product quality.Ensure specifications changes are fully implemented in the quality control documentationRecommend to Manager of Quality and Operations Control and other management changes necessary to maintain Quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
Be a team player and work to improve the Company
Participate as an internal auditor of the Quality Management SystemAssist Manager of Quality and Operations Control in QA, Systems, and Metallurgical activities as neededCross train and fill in for other team members when applicableLead or support improvement projects for all QMS Processes
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control rolesProficiency in conducting quality audits, inspections, and implementing quality management systemsStrong knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA regulations, HACCP, CGMP, and ISO 9001 standardsExperience with spectrometer usage and quality analysisExcellent project management skills and ability to lead QA/QC teamsStrong analytical skills to identify and resolve quality issues efficiently
