Job Summary

Responsible for developing partnerships with global biopharmaceutical manufacturers to enhance competitiveness in the market and establish the Company as the retail and specialty pharmacy of choice.

Job Responsibilities

Develops and fosters relationships with global pharmaceutical manufacturers with the focus on establishing/expanding alliances in both the retail and specialty distribution markets. Leads the process for gaining access to LDD (limited distribution drugs) for Specialty Pharmacy with assigned manufacturers.

Develops specific acquisition and adherence strategies for retail prescription products in collaboration with internal support teams and manufacturer partners.

Responsible for development and implementation of joint strategies focused on Rx DTC marketing, adherence services, data services, market insights and unique distribution/purchasing strategies that enhance sales for the Company and our pharma partners.

Collaborates with manufacturer trade relations and brand teams to proactively identify business opportunities and implement tactics to establish enterprise-wide business relationships.

Negotiates and contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers for service programs in the retail and specialty arenas, ensuring that the appropriate partnerships with Purchasing and Supply Chain are recognized.

Functions as the primary point of contact between the biopharma industry and internal stakeholders, such as Pharmacy Operations, Legal/Contracting, Marketing, Clinical, Specialty, Digital, and other enabling functions.

Utilizes internal/external business intelligence to provide the early identification of new business opportunities.

External Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in account management in the pharmaceutical industry or trade relations OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience in account management in the pharmaceutical industry or trade relations.

Experience collaborating with both internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.

Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.

Experience in leading initiatives in one or more of these areas: pharmacy marketing, pharmacy sales, pharmacy benefit management, and/or managed care.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturer business segment and the cost variables involved within the segment.

Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).

At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.

Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
