Also, that all team members understand their role and interdependencies with both the engineering shared services team and other teams and departments. It is essential that this role understands priorities and projects within the entire engineering department organization and can balance resources and priorities to meet timelines and deliver results on time. This position is also responsible that all work and activities of the company are accomplished in accordance with the company's quality system.

In consultation with Director of Engineering - Shared services this individual provides guidance regarding resourcing (staffing, physical, and process) needs, capital equipment, space, and process needs / improvements regarding the needs of the systems and test and reliability development teams. Consults on topics such as vision, strategy, culture, and objectives. He/she works with project and program management to encourage team members to collaborate, coordinate, and interact across projects and departments.

Department objectives are achieved, in large measure, through the execution of engineering and department projects/ objectives. This position works with Engineering Management to define, set, and monitor department goals and objectives specific to systems engineering and test and reliability development teams.

People Leadership:HiringOnboardingTrainingLead technical teams with demonstrated leadership capabilitiesProvide feedbackCoaching and mentoringConflict resolution and interpersonal skillsBest practicesCareer growth of team membersPerformance reviewsRecommendations for incentives and rewardsApproving timecards, PTO, and leave requestsMakes recommendations on staffing levelsMaintain job descriptions for direct reportsPhysical ResourcesIdentifies and makes recommendations on equipment, space, etc. needs of direct reportsFacilitates project interaction by assigning workspace, seating locations, etc. to team membersProcessesShould be familiar with all department processes and all relevant company SOPs/WIDs and policies.Monitors adherence to established processesIdentifies and consults on process improvements for the departmentWorks with the Director of Engineering to create a group charter.Tracks, trends, and reports on key performance indicators relative to direct report performanceSupports company and department strategy defined by senior leadership.Performs all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioMerieux's Quality System.Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.Performs other duties as assigned.Provide manufacturing engineering team coordination/resource allocation to maximize efficiencies and ensure all research, development, transfer to production, and sustaining engineering needs are met for manufacturing/testing processes and equipment.Interface with R&D Engineering Management to ensure process research and development needs are met for new instrumentation and the product roadmap.Manage and train engineering teams to follow BioMerieux's design controls.Ensure that product, processes, and equipment meets the needs of production and installed base reliability needs.Set and review goals and objectives for each employee in the dept each year and have quarterly check in's.Ensure engineering SOPs and WIDs meet the needs of the assigned engineering team(s).Provide team leadership and training.Ensure dept processes help teams and projects to produce products that meet quality expectations and specificationsCommunicate progress and needs to department Director.Review and approve biweekly effort reporting for assigned team members.Ensure dept processes are set up and defined to assist the team to perform data collection, analysis and reporting from respective processesAs needed, act as project manager by tracking and reporting on schedule, tasks, and deliverables for projects being run by the Systems Engineering and Test and Reliability teamsAttendance and participation at all stakeholder meetings requiredEducation & Experience RequirementsBS Degree in Engineering or equivalent5+ years of experience in related or similar industry with demonstrated leadership experienceExperience in Systems engineering and test engineering is preferredsome travel may be required
