Montrose's Advisory and Specialty Services Division supports clients across public and private sectors to meet their unique and complex environmental demands. A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our Principal/Senior Consultant - EHSS IT Data/Systems Management position is fully-remote. [Internally facing title: Principal IT Data Management Analyst.] and is within our EHS&S Management Information Solutions team whose mission is to provide quality work, respond quickly and work effectively with supportive teams. This business line focuses solely on the strategy, selection, setup, and support of leading EHS & Sustainability information management systems to help our customers manage compliance, risk, and return value.
The job involves applying strong project delivery skills with experience in implementing commercial off-the-shelf systems and subject matter expertise in EHS & Sustainability. This includes a focus on air emissions, greenhouse gas, and sustainability (ESG), but also includes permit tracking, incident management, inspections, audits, observations, occupational health, control of work, etc. You will be responsible for technical leadership, development and application of data management processes and best practices, system architecture/design, and hands-on execution of EHSS IT projects.
In particular, we are seeking candidates with deep experience with emissions inventory management experience, ideally using commercial off the shelf systems.
This key role will be responsible for performing a full range of activities throughout a project cycle, including:
Work directly with clients evaluate AS-IS processes, identify areas for improvement, develop TO-BE requirements and document gaps.Think critically about data management processes (collection, validation, disclosure, etc.), operational efficiency, and identify areas for continuous improvement.Translate business requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.Facilitate gathering of business requirements and translating them into easy-to-understand specifications used to set up COTS (commercial off the shelf software). This includes helping clients build an Inventory Management Plans (air emissions and more) after helping define a vision, boundaries, materialit y, and data availability.Architect and lead systems/reports that require reliable math and logic skills that will be applied to emissions calculations, validation, and analysisCreate and/or review design specifications, test scripts and training guides.Create project plans and define action items.Lead execution of technical tasks by creating plans and estimates that others can executeManage various EHS&S information management software applications and associated content (compliance tasks, operating data, audit/inspection checklists, ESG frameworks, etc.) .Recognize and escalate conflicts between client, staff, and software vendors - and within scopes of work.Streamline technical delivery of routine Management of Change and QA/QC activities.Develop staff's mastery of processes and technical knowledge (EHS and other applications)For the right candidate, support business development and sales activities. We are looking for leaders that can do above, but also develop into seller-doers responsible for revenue generation and delivery that have experience in our space.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

5-10 years of work experience managing environmental, health, safety, and/or sustainability projects, and a strong comfort level and/or interest in how technology can effectively deliver results.Skilled with a variety of tools (e.g., MS Excel/Word, PowerPoint, Access, SQL, Crystal Reports, SQL, Oracle and ideally Sphera Environmental Accounting (and/or opsInfo & Essential Suite), Enablon AQS, Cority Enviance, Intelex ACTS or similar applications with strong environmental calculation capability).Experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously of varying size, i.e., $500,000.Confident leader with proven successes leading projects and managing clients.Ability to work independently (self-driven) within deadlines and budgets.Able to pro-actively communicate clearly and succinctly through written and verbal form.Interest in the team's culture, which includes flex hours, working from home, helping colleagues and clients be successful and grow, and a collaborative entrepreneurial environment.Interest in consulting, sustainability, environmental, health and safety, and IT.
