Your Role:

Tetra Tech's Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery Division (TDR) is seeking an experienced

Director of Emergency Response

with significant prior experience in emergency response services including field logistics and/or emergency sheltering/housing operations supporting the public sector or non-profits. The ideal candidate will have a combination of operations, financial, and marketing expertise with a passion for building an industry leading program within Tetra Tech. The candidate will be supported by an existing business development and operations team within Tetra Tech however they will be expected to build upon our core sales and operations expertise within the emergency response space. The ideal candidate will be expected to have 8 plus years of demonstrated experience. Existing relationships with State and large municipal (City/County) emergency management agencies is preferred.

• Provide overall management of the Tetra Tech Emergency Response practice

• Market Tetra Tech response related services to federal, state, and local government clients

• Build relationships with strategic subcontractors for support services and equipment

• Serve as a senior leader in the execution of contracted assignments

• Develop standard operating procedures for effective project execution

• Work with Tetra Tech IT department in the development of technologies and data reporting to enhance operations

• Prepare project work plans, schedules, cost estimates and other planning documents to meet client objectives and requirements

• Ability to create, analyze, and present project budgets and monthly / annual financials

• Develop the practice by recruiting quality staff and mentoring / growing junior staff

• Network with other industry providers and subcontractors

• Network with providers and subcontractors to increase our efficiencies post disaster

• Update our process for staff tracking and deployment (ICS)

• Ability to travel extensively as required

• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in a leadership position responsible for executing related programs or initiatives

• Familiarity with federal emergency management programs including preparedness, response, and recovery

• Experience with GovWin, GSA, SAM, and other government research and procurement tools preferred

• Experience with various government purchasing contracts including OASIS, GSA Schedules, and agency contracts

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, emergency management or a related field is preferred

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Strong understanding of financial budgeting processes and principles with the ability to forecast and maintain accurate project financials

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable with legal and regulatory processes to ensure company compliance

• Adaptability to respond quickly to adjustments to initiatives and priorities; organizational skills and flexibility to maintain multiple priorities
